This program partners with provincial and territorial governments to provide a 75% rent reduction for small and medium-sized businesses. Commercial property owners will be able to lower the rents of their small business tenants payable for the months of April and May, retroactively, and for June.

Expanded Canada Business Account

Banks will soon offer $40,000 loans, guaranteed by the Federal government to qualifying businesses. These loans will be interest-free in the first year and, if your business meets certain conditions, $10,000 will be forgivable. These loans are eligible for businesses who have spent $20,000 – $1.5 million in total payroll in 2019.

Contact your local financial institution. Since we know most small businesses have a relationship with their local financial institution already, we’ve worked with the financial sector to increase their lending capability to support you in in this challenging time. They are a good first place to start for help.
  3. Download the Canada Business App to find tailored supports to address your needs in the face of COVID-19.
  4. Consult the Canadian Chamber of Commerce’s pandemic preparedness guide to help prepare you business in the days and weeks to come.
